Join us for a one-day celebration of readers and writers who gather to elevate the power of books. A full literary program is offered in a family-friendly environment. Attendees participate according to their own interests.

The event is free of charge and open to all.

Our Mission

The mission of The San Joaquin Valley Bookfest is to provide an inclusive and participatory learning environment for readers to embrace storytelling in the written and spoken word, and for writers to share, champion, and market their published works. The spirit of perseverance and hope, rich in the literature of the San Joaquin Valley, and prominent in our fields and cities, is celebrated through this event.

 

Non-Profit

The San Joaquin Valley Bookfest is a fiscal project of The Fresno Arts Council, a 501 (c)(3) non-profit organization. (Tax ID: 94-2902674) Ten percent (10%) of all donations to The San Joaquin Valley Bookfest are received by the Fresno Arts Council for their operational use.

Our Founders

The San Joaquin Valley Bookfest was founded in 2024 by Danielle R. Shapazian, Joseph Rios, and Mark Arax.
